For last weekend we did not plan any demanding action. That I am wrong and that something is up to mischief I realized at 6 o´clock of Friday evening when our instructor called me .. :o)
Firstly-after the call – I thought that the instructor must be surely mad, but today I am very happy that I made a decision to try it and I am very proud of my fantastic working dog what I really have at home !
Shortly – on Saturday we participated on special working exam
ZPS1, according our National Czech examination regulations.
This exam is ranked among the higher types of exams. Definitely is not easy exam and its passing mean a big achievement also for representatives of special working breeds.
The ZPS1 exam consists from higher obedience (the exact example
here) and from a track (it is track laid by stranger, 2 hrs old, with 2 articles and 4 corners, 1x sharp corner).
Rebel performed excellent work on track as well as in obedience. He did not mind at all, that the wooden fetch he had never seen in his life, and he met it just on a day of the exam.. He did not mind that we did not train hurdles for months.. and even he did not mind that half of track was laid “under water” because of permanent raining in last week… And on the top – probably nobody will belive me that we never work out 2 hrs old track (because now we are in training for different type of exam) and that sharp corner we work up 2x in Rebel´s training… :o)
Simply – Rebel is the first and only ridgeback who passed this difficult exam in history. He passed it with high point score although absolutely without training.
Especially I appreciate on him that he gave a boost to me in the moment when I was not sure that we manage it. It is the best dog´s characteristic what you could hope for and it is not possible to learn it. It is a great demonstration of perfect mutual relation of dog and owner ..
I think I never forget this day … :o)
